About the new addition
The Floor Plan Rendering you see at the left shows the existing library facilities to the right of the magenta line. The proposed new addition is everything to the left of the magenta line. We're adding approximately 5,278 square feet to the existing library of 3,216 square feet, for a total of 8,494 square feet.
This is a long overdue expansion for a library that has been bursting at the seams for many years. Your library directors, Linda and Wendy, have maxed out every foot of available space with the many well attended programs for all ages.
The new addition will allow us to double the existing Childrens and Adult areas. A beautiful Reading Lounge, Museum, Flight Simulator, Conference Room and Study Area, will round out the plan.
Your Library is the true Community Center of Garden Ridge. The new Multi Purpose Room and Warming Kitchen will provide a much needed venue for expanding community groups and activities.
About the FRIENDS GROUP
The Friends of Garden Ridge Library is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, formed to support the Library through fund raising and the Good Will of its members. In order for the Library to meet the growing demands of Garden Ridge residents and the Surrounding Community, on a limited budget, and without tax increases or bond issues, the Friends Group provides a tax deductable channel, for those who wish to give in support of the Library’s Mission. We are all about Friends helping Friends to build a Stronger, more Vibrant Community together!
